Requirements
  • Ideally hold Chartered accreditation and have previous construction-industry experience in a similar discipline.
  • Be able to deliver larger and more complex projects through the whole project lifecycle.
  • Have strong technical and project knowledge based on experience.
  • Be able to manage fees and assist with fee bids.
  • Understand the account management process.
  • Be able to analyse projects and report performance to the line manager.
  • Have excellent knowledge of Construction Design and Management regulations and construction health and safety.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the production and management of cost plans, life-cycle costing, cash-flow forecasts, and benchmarking using relevant data sources.
  • Oversee procurement activities, including preparation of tender documentation, bills of quantities, pricing documents, procurement reports, and the full tender and evaluation process.
  • Manage contract negotiations, prepare and collate contract documents, and act as a key client liaison throughout pre-contract and post-contract stages.
  • Administer contracts as Contract Administrator or Employer’s Agent, including issuing instructions, managing snagging, overseeing practical completion, and performing post-contract duties.
  • Manage post-contract responsibilities such as interim valuations, cost reporting, change control, evaluation of variations, final accounts, and dispute resolution.
  • Contribute to and oversee risk registers, value engineering, and value management reporting.
  • Support the Associate Director with fee bids, resource and fee management, reporting, and client relationship maintenance.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop Assistant and Quantity Surveyors.
  • Ensure accurate and timely updates to internal systems and sign-off of invoices.
  • Maintain quality assurance standards and best-practice procedures across all projects.
  • Uphold health and safety standards and support environmental and social impact.
  • Generate new work through client relationship management.
  • Support junior team members through mentoring and development.
  • Analyse projects and report performance to the line manager.
  • Carry out additional duties in line with the role as required.
