Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
- At least 2 years of experience in diagnostic imaging and computed tomography.
- Ability to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision.
- Ability to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with age-specific criteria.
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association.
- Registration in both Radiography (ARRT) (R) and Computed Tomography (ARRT) (C).
- Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or an American Red Cross CPR/AED certification for professional rescuers and healthcare providers.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures in both X-ray and computed tomography modalities.
- Provide patient care while ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout imaging procedures.
- Explain imaging procedures clearly to patients and answer questions to promote understanding and cooperation.
- Verify patient information and ensure appropriate preparation before examinations.
- Operate X-ray and computed tomography equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Produce accurate, high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by licensed practitioners.
- Maintain competency in all assigned imaging procedures and equipment.
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and best practices to minimize patient and staff exposure.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to support timely and accurate patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational policies and procedures.
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred experience in emergency, pediatric, and orthopedic examinations in both X-ray and computed tomography modalities.
