o Providers care to patients though their reproductive lifespan, including prenatal, childbirth and postpartum care as well as gynecological services.
o Assist with triage inpatient rounding, triage assessments, antepartum/postpartum care, including vaginal births and inpatient coverage
o Provides primary care to new and established patients seeking OB/GYN care, which may include diagnosis and management of UTIs, vaginitis, STDs, as well as various other female-related diagnosis
o Establishes medical and nursing diagnoses; orders, performs and evaluates diagnostic studies; performs and monitors therapeutic procedures; assesses and/or manages follow-up plans.
o Performs follow-up antepartum and postpartum visits, including physical examinations, microscopy and screening for sexually transmitted infections, bacterial vaginosis and cervical cancer.
o Provides preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic services to women across the age spectrum as it relates to general health maintenance, contraception, menopause, and other female-related diagnosis
o Obtains medical histories and conducts physical examinations and evaluations as appropriate.
o Orders and interprets laboratory/radiology testing, as appropriate.
o Provides patient education penitent to health conditions
o Recognizes and manages common acute and chronic illnesses within his/her scope of practice according to standards of care.
o Records and documents health assessment data necessary to maintain, coordinate, and/or expedite required services.
o Provides consultation and collaboration with and referral to physician colleagues as indicated, for high-risk conditions that include but are not limited to HIV infection, hypertension, diabetes, pyelonephritis, and other abnormalities.
o Prescribes and regulates medications per HUFPP protocol
o Reports abnormal patient findings to appropriate physician colleagues and is responsible for coordinating the reporting of all STDs to state agencies, as indicated and appropriate.
o Supports clinical activities of the Howard University Faculty Practice Plan (HUFPP), by providing patient and family education, developing teaching materials and other support
o Assumes responsibility and accountability for time management, professional relationships and interpersonal interactions across the HUH/HUFPP team.
o Assumes responsibility for his/her own professional development and remains current in clinical practice by attending relevant continuing education.
Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
· Membership to applicable professional organization (preferred)
· Experience and capability to use electronic medical records
· Patient-center focused
· Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
Minimum Qualifications
· Current DC CNM License, CDS and DEA registrations
· Current CPR/BLS certification required (AHA).
· Must maintain current licensure and certification during duration of employment.
· Two (2) years of experience in ambulatory care setting (preferred).
· Spanish language skills (preferred)
· ACLS (preferred)

Expected Pay Range: $88,872 - $126,000
