Requirements
- A minimum of two years of experience in fine dining hospitality and/or full-service senior living.
- Strong communication skills.
- Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Experience working with seniors.
- The ability to stand, walk, sit, use fine and gross motor skills, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and smell.
- The ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds and intermittently lift and support residents using proper body mechanics.
Responsibilities
- Greet diners upon arrival, seat them appropriately, respond to inquiries, and offer assistance as needed.
- Learn and retain residents’ names, special requests, and dietary restrictions.
- Ensure the dining room is set up and that service items, including silverware, napkins, menus, and salt and pepper shakers, are available.
- Monitor dining-room service and assist with serving residents as needed.
- Monitor dining-server performance and provide coaching and direction as needed.
- Ensure safe food handling.
- Schedule dining associates according to the staffing plan.
- Supervise and assist with dining-related programs, including meal delivery, special events, and guest meals.
- Ensure all residents are accounted for during each meal and complete attendance documentation.
- Monitor dining-room-supply inventory and notify the Dining Services Director of ordering needs.
- Participate in and attend scheduled in-service training.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and community policies and procedures.
Desired Qualifications
- A high school diploma is preferred; a General Educational Development credential is accepted.
- Previous management experience.
