Requirements
  • Excellent selling capabilities, including prospecting, account management, and persuasion skills.
  • A deep understanding of demand and lead generation activities, including prospecting and account opportunity planning.
  • A foundational understanding of sales processes related to consumable goods.
  • Foundational knowledge of customers in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food and beverage, forensics, environmental, and industrial sectors.

  • A scientific background and formal qualification in an applicable sector such as pharmaceutical, life science or biotechnology, environmental or food life sciences, industrial sciences, or chemistry.

  • Computer literacy and keyboard skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities
  • Guide, manage, train, and develop the capabilities of a team of sales specialists.
  • Lead collaboration and coordination of sales resources, including specialists, customer service, and quoting, to support transactional accounts and improve customer experiences.
  • Use sales tools to manage prospects, existing accounts, opportunities, and pipeline, and to forecast accurately and timely.
  • Achieve the quota for an assigned geography by engaging collaborators as needed to deliver sales from new and existing customers.
  • Represent the complete product range to new and current customers across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, environmental, and other end markets.
  • Identify and close new prospect opportunities through prospecting and qualification of marketing-provided and self-generated leads.
  • Periodically collect and analyze information on the largest transactional accounts to determine eligibility for segment promotion.
  • Monitor marketing activity to remain aware of new product launches.

Published on 17 July, 2026 Updated on 17 July, 2026 The National Laboratory for Energy and Geology (LNEG, Lisbon) and the Laboratoire de Génie Chimique (LGC, Toulouse) are organising, as part of SEA TECH WEEK 2026, the workshop 'Marine-Inspired Strategies for Enhancing Materials Durability' (STW40), to be held on the morning of 8 October in Brest, France. SEA TECH WEEK is one of the leading international events dedicated to maritime science and technology, bringing together experts, researchers and companies from across Europe in Brest between 6 and 8 October to discuss innovation in the service of the ocean. This year, Portugal is the guest country for the event, which guarantees free registration for Portuguese participants. The STW40 workshop, one of the workshops proposed and selected for inclusion in the event's official programme, forms part of the ALGAPROTEC project (LGC & LNEG), a bilateral cooperation initiative between France and Portugal, funded by the CNRS IRP programme (International Research Project).
