An exciting opportunity to work for a fast paced global media company and a highly agile Finance function. Based in either Bath or Cardiff, and reporting to the Head of Management Accounts, this role plays a key part in the continuous improvement of and insight into our management accounts.
- A brand-new role focused on developing, consolidating and validating reporting of our management accounts.
- Working closely with commercial finance and business leaders to provide insight into our business performance.
What you’ll be doing...
At Future, our management accounts team is responsible for producing our monthly management accounts. On a monthly basis this role will look after the tasks required to ensure that we are able to present these results in a timely, accurate and user-friendly manner to both the wider finance team and business leaders.
The Management Accounting team is a new function within the wider finance team, focussing on creating a centre of excellence for producing month-end results and informing the business.
- Supporting the management accounting team with the production of month-end reports
- Ownership of all OWL reports used within the monthly accounts productions
- Ensuring reports are fit for purpose, and can be reconciled to the central MI pack/appropriate source
- Controlling/supporting the development of new reports
- Documentation as appropriate
- Development and maintenance of MI reporting using appropriate output tools:
- Improved speed of production
- Ongoing accuracy
- Business focused
- Ability to drill-down into results easily
- Development/maintenance and ownership of appropriate month-end reporting outputs for MBR packs etc.
- OWL systems expert, providing ongoing training to the wider team
- Supporting the management accounts team with training and issue resolution business-wide.
- Ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required
Experience that will put you ahead of the curve...
- OWL systems/data user.
- Proven experience of challenging and improving processes.
- Effective change management
- Strong communication and people skills to build strong relationships across the organisation.
- Bright, energetic and self-motivated with a proactive approach to work, and a focus on accuracy and execution.
- Team player who is able to communicate and collaborate across Finance to ensure month-end deadlines are met.
- Able to provide OWL /MI training to new members of staff
- Effective stakeholder and time management essential
