Requirements
  • A Master's degree in Nursing is required, and education will be verified.
  • At least two years of nursing experience is required.
  • Work history must demonstrate continuous advancement and success in roles requiring creative problem solving and collaboration.
  • An unencumbered registered nurse license is required.
  • An active, unencumbered license in the designated state is required.
  • The employee must comply with site-specific orientation and onboarding requirements.
  • State and federal legislative requirements and college accreditation requirements may apply to maintain the necessary credentialing for the role.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expertise in an assigned content area and maintain current knowledge in the field.
  • Participate in implementing the philosophy and goals of the program.
  • Foster student learning through innovative teaching practices, including teaching students how to perform duties in a clinical setting.
  • Make appropriate student referrals for remediation or other needs using university policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with each student's assigned coach or preceptor about student progress and concerns as needed.
  • Provide final review and approval of students' clinical time.
  • Offer proactive support and outreach to assigned students.
  • Use technology-based teaching and communication platforms to help students develop competencies.
  • Submit electronic clinical student evaluation forms after completion of the clinical intensive.
  • Conduct in-person and remote methods of student evaluation.
  • Maintain working knowledge and understanding of relevant state regulations.
  • Support students' attainment of knowledge and skills through facilitated learning experiences.
  • Use resources to address student concerns and inquiries.
  • Support students' needs to help them achieve course or program outcomes.
  • Follow established university and department policies and best practices.
  • Provide feedback regarding discipline and practice leadership.
  • Support initiatives within the specialty.
  • Support change-management practices.
  • Support the Health Placement Team in securing clinical partnerships as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • A doctorate or terminal degree in a specific content area is preferred.
  • Strong experience with distance education and distance-learning students is preferred.
  • Prior experience in clinical teaching or nursing education is preferred.
  • A terminal degree and all applicable licenses or certifications are preferred.
