  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT leadership roles, including strategy development, operational management, budgeting, and team development.
  • 5+ years in the life science industry with a proven ability to apply regulatory or statutory compliance requirements to infrastructure.
  • Understanding of Operational Change Management practices and working knowledge of network routing and switching, firewall policies and ACLs, server and OS administration, leased line connectivity, and telecoms vendor management.
  • Experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, issue resolution techniques, and structured leadership abilities to guide colleagues through critical operational events.

Responsibilities
  • Set the mission, vision, and strategy for the Infrastructure function.
  • Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to meet current and future infrastructure needs.
  • Lead development and evaluation of infrastructure architectural designs.
  • Lead the Technical Review Board forum.
  • Develop and maintain operational and project documentation for infrastructure.
  • Lead planning, execution, and successful delivery of all infrastructure projects.
  • Ensure 24x7 optimal operation of all IT infrastructure equipment and services.
  • Maintain high availability, backup, and continuity of IT infrastructure.
  • Monitor reliability, resiliency, and performance; execute projects to maintain IT operations.
  • Establish and document best practices and policies for installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery plans for all key infrastructure components.
  • Build relationships with ITLT colleagues and stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Collaborate with Head of Information Security to align with security strategy.
  • Collaborate with Head of Digital Workplace to develop and manage an integrated ITSM landscape.
  • Collaborate with IT Business Partners to define requirements, solutions, and services.
  • Collaborate with ITLT on infrastructure portfolio and resource prioritization.
  • Develop and control the annual Infrastructure budget.
  • Drive a culture of continuous cost optimization.
  • Continuously evaluate the business value of Infrastructure using metrics (KPIs, OKRs, etc.).
  • Develop and deploy methodologies for testing infrastructure performance and reporting.
  • Participate in audits and assessments of the IT environment; lead management responses for infrastructure findings.
  • Collaborate with sourcing and vendor managers to ensure adherence to contracted services and metrics.
