About the Role

As a Lead QA Automation Engineer, you will anchor the technical strategy and operational execution of our quality engineering initiatives. You will balance hands-on framework architecture with hands-on technical leadership, guiding engineers in building modern, resilient testing practices while maintaining close alignment with client product stakeholders.

This role is critical to establishing test governance, mentoring engineers, and setting quality benchmarks across complex nearshore engagements. You will own the strategic direction of our automated test environments, drive orchestration within CI/CD pipelines, and cultivate a proactive culture of quality engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead QA automation engineers in a hands-on technical capacity while establishing modern testing standards and methodologies.

• Architect and evolve enterprise-grade automation frameworks utilizing Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, and Java.

• Drive end-to-end API testing strategies leveraging RestAssured, Postman, and Swagger across microservices and AWS event-driven systems.

• Orchestrate continuous testing strategies within GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous delivery and zero-downtime releases.

• Optimize system resilience by designing load and performance testing strategies using JMeter and monitoring distributed environments.

• Partner with engineering leadership, product owners, and client executives to define quality metrics, manage risks, and align technical roadmaps.

Requirements

• 7+ years of total QA Automation experience, including at least 2+ years leading QA teams in a direct, hands-on technical role.

• Tech Stack Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Java, RestAssured, Postman, and JMeter.

• Cloud & CI/CD Pipeline Infrastructure: Practical mastery of GitHub Actions, continuous testing integration, and AWS Cloud ecosystem (S3, Lambda, cloud logs).

• Leadership & Process: Proven track record in mentoring teams, establishing QA metrics, managing Agile workflows, and managing test tools like Jira or Rally.

• Soft Skills: Exceptional ownership mindset, strategic thinking, client-facing communication skills, and empathetic leadership.

• Language: Advanced English (C1 level, fluent written and spoken communication for US stakeholders).

Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience setting up parallel execution grids and cloud testing platforms (e.g., SauceLabs, BrowserStack).

• Exposure to behavior-driven development (BDD) frameworks like Cucumber.

• Experience with enterprise supply chain, retail, or item management platforms.
