Requirements
  • Degree qualified in engineering with tertiary qualifications in the areas of electronics/mechatronics engineering.
  • Ideally project design and project commissioning experience in Australia.
  • Knowledge and experience in programming and commissioning of PLCs (Siemens S7 preferred), variable speed drives, barcode scanners and safety devices.
  • Knowledge of SCADA applications like ICONICS, CITEC and Ignition.
  • Knowledge of materials handling Control systems is highly desirable.
  • Experience writing technical documentation.
  • Ability to work without supervision and guide teams/projects.
  • Flexibility to travel interstate, regional areas and overseas.
Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to control systems.
  • Provide second-level technical support to maintenance teams.
  • Participate in the on-call after-hours support roster.
  • Ensure compliance with OHS&E standards in all work.
  • Assist with budget costing and quoting.
  • Develop design documentation and functional specifications.
  • Conduct system diagnostics, analysis, and provide reports.
  • Prepare PLC programs, and configure SCADA/PLC equipment (e.g. HMI’s, scanners, VSD’s).
  • Plan and supervise controls installations.
  • Test and commission systems on-site (weekend work may be required).
  • Train client personnel and provide ongoing support.
  • Assist with interstate or overseas projects as needed.

  • Knowledge of materials handling Control systems is highly desirable.
