Kymera Therapeutics develops therapies that remove disease-causing proteins using targeted protein degradation. The company’s Pegasus Platform helps identify which proteins to degrade and then uses molecules that recruit the cell’s waste machinery to break down those proteins, aiming to treat cancers and immune diseases. This approach can create multiple drug candidates across different diseases. Kymera’s products are advanced through collaborations, most notably with Sanofi, which supports research, licensing, and milestone-based payments. Unlike traditional drugs that inhibit a protein’s function, Kymera’s strategy eliminates the protein itself, potentially offering new treatment options for patients. The company’s goal is to deliver new, effective medicines by degrading harmful proteins, expanding options in the biopharmaceutical market and addressing unmet medical needs.

What believers are saying

  • Kymera reported $65 million Q2 2026 collaboration revenue on August 5, 2026.
  • Cash reached $1.5 billion on June 30, 2026, funding runway into 2029.
  • Kymera finished KT-621 atopic dermatitis enrollment early, pulling Phase III start to mid-2027.

What critics are saying

  • KT-621 Phase 2b can still fail after strong Phase 1b biomarker data.
  • Kymera lost CMO Jared Gollob on July 27, 2026, while scaling late-stage trials.
  • A bad KT-621 or KT-579 readout in 2026 can collapse Kymera’s TPD valuation story.

What makes Kymera Therapeutics unique

  • Kymera built Pegasus for oral targeted protein degradation, not antibodies or biologics.
  • KT-621 is first-in-class STAT6 degrader; KT-579 is first-in-class oral IRF5 degrader.
  • Sanofi and Gilead validated Kymera’s platform with option exercises and milestones in 2026.
