Requirements
  • Candidates must have a Ph.D. in anthropology, biology, anatomy, physiology, or another anatomy related field in hand at the time of appointment
  • At least two years of teaching experience in relevant courses
  • Undergraduate or graduate teaching experience that implements active learning strategies is required
Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of a human gross anatomy teaching program in the Department of Anthropology’s new gross anatomy teaching lab
  • Teach a human gross anatomy dissection course for medical students, graduate students, and advanced undergraduates, and other cadaver-based anatomy courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as other courses within the candidate’s area of expertise
  • Oversee and maintain the human gross anatomy teaching program in the department
  • Train laboratory teaching assistants to be effective members of an instructional team
  • Create/implement inquiry-based class exercises
  • Lead curriculum design and assessment
Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated interest in pedagogy and the application of research-based teaching methods is highly desirable
  • Preference will be given to those with anatomy teaching and dissection experience
