- Review and ensure timely and accurate invoice approval and payment applications according to client terms and requirements, including subcontracting needs.
- Collaborate with the project manager and cash management team to proactively resolve billing and revenue discrepancies.
- Generate and evaluate standard and ad hoc reports to identify and track potential cost issues and overruns.
- Investigate budget anomalies, resolve variances, and establish cost risk management approaches with the project manager.
- Forecast and monitor project estimate-at-completion by recording potential and actual changes to cost accounts, including change orders, trends, and deviations.
- Lead the earnings review process with the project team using generally accepted accounting principles and revenue recognition concepts to analyze project finance performance.
- Communicate project performance affecting office results to the office management team.
- Cultivate client and subconsultant relationships and ensure effective client service and efficient subconsultant management.
- Provide training and onboarding for project management staff on project management processes and procedures as needed.
- Guide and mentor Project Finance Associates and earlier-career Project Analysts and oversee their day-to-day work.
- Develop and deliver learning and training on financial systems, contracting, cost management, financial performance metrics, revenue recognition, earnings mechanics, and cash management.
- Provide input on staff recruitment, development, and retention, including performance and compensation reviews and succession planning.
- Coordinate schedules, approve timecards, assist in setting employee objectives, provide client feedback, and coach and mentor the team.
- Perform other assigned duties.
- Knowledge and experience supporting transportation and infrastructure projects, including Construction Engineering and Inspection contracts and clients or agencies such as the Georgia Department of Transportation, Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, and Alabama Department of Transportation.
- Familiarity with Department of Transportation contracting, project controls, billing requirements, revenue recognition, and financial management practices within the architecture, engineering, and construction industry.
- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or a related field.

Kelli McNamara named Indiana office leader at HNTB. Kelli McNamara Posted Sunday, June 14, 2026 7:00 am News Release HNTB, a consulting, engineering and architecture firm, has named Kelli McNamara Indiana office leader and vice president. In her new role, McNamara will oversee operations, strategic growth and client service for the firm's Indiana office. Since joining HNTB two years ago as Indiana business development director, McNamara has played a central role in strengthening the firm's presence across the state. The Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) will present Sam Niness, former president of Triple Crown Services, with the 2026 Silver Kingpin Award during Intermodal EXPO, to be held Sept. 14-16 in Long Beach, California. The Silver Kingpin is the industry's most prestigious award, which recognizes long-term contributions to intermodalism, IANA officials said in a press release. Niness started his over 40-year intermodal career with Chemical Leaman before joining Conrail Direct, where he supported the transition to Thoroughbred Direct Intermodal Services (TDIS). After a stint at WebModal, he returned to TDIS and was promoted to president in 2016. Niness oversaw the integration of TDIS and Triple Crown Services, which formally rebranded in April 2024. Additionally, Niness was a founding board member of the Transportation Intermediaries Association and has been involved with IANA. Previous Silver Kingpin award winners include Katie Farmer, BNSF Railway's president and CEO; Joni Casey, IANA's former CEO; Larry Gross, the president and founder of Gross Transportation Consulting; Ted Prince, co-founder of and chief strategy officer for Tiger Cool Express and a former IANA chair; Clarence Gooden, formerly CSX's executive VP and chief commercial officer; and Frank Richter, Progressive Railroading's co-founder who died in 2013. TNW Corp. on June 2 appointed Daniel Blank vice president of sales and marketing; Joey Evans, senior director of government affairs and business development; and Jeremiah Klun, director of safety, environmental and training. Blank joined TNW in 2024 following more than 15 years at Union Pacific Railroad. He will oversee strategic sales and marketing initiatives, TNW officials said in a press release. HNTB honored with 2026 ACEC New York Engineering Excellence Awards. By TBM Staff April 29, 2026 HNTB has been recognized with five Engineering Excellence Awards from the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York (ACEC New York), reaffirming the firm's technical excellence and deep knowledge in delivering high-impact infrastructure projects that shape the future of mobility and resilience across the state. Among the honors, HNTB received the Diamond Award for the Accelerated and Innovative Delivery of Central Substation 2 as part of the $19 billion JFK International Airport Redevelopment Program. The project delivered JFK's first 15-kilovolt distribution substation using a design-build approach that enabled early procurement of long-lead equipment and introduced a pioneering two-in-one energization technique. This innovative strategy ensured timely power delivery to new terminals and set a precedent for future substation designs. The substation's sustainable design features, including a green roof and LEED Silver certification, complement JFK's modernized infrastructure and aesthetics. As an ACEC New York Diamond Award recipient, this project also has been selected as a finalist for the national ACEC competition. Other HNTB project received awards, including two projects that earned Platinum Awards: RK-93 Design Build Services for the Reconstruction of Randall's Island Ramps. This $108-million initiative at the RFK Bridge delivered five new ramps - including ADA-compliant shared-use paths - to improve access to Randall's Island Park. The project enhanced traffic flow, pedestrian safety and connectivity while pioneering the use of reduced-carbon concrete and sustainable drainage systems. Completed ahead of schedule, RK-93 sets a benchmark for integrating accessibility, sustainability and aesthetics in urban infrastructure. VN-84B Rehabilitation and New Construction of Brooklyn Verrazzano's Bridge Ramps - Scoping and Preliminary Design. As the final phase of the VNB Capital Master Plan, this project replaces outdated left-hand exit ramps to the Belt Parkway with safer right-hand exits and replaces all remaining original deck on the Brooklyn ramps. Innovative design requirements developed for the project include eliminating 50% of deck joints, improving seismic performance with isolation bearings, and minimizing community impact through noise mitigation and park restoration plans. The project enhances regional traffic flow, safety and long-term maintenance efficiency while preparing the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge for future upgrades. HNTB also received Gold Awards for: MTA's ADA Accessibility Upgrades and Station Improvements at Eight Stations across Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan and the Bronx. This $352.5-million project delivered critical accessibility upgrades across eight subway stations, including 11 new elevators, five replacements, and extensive state-of-good-repair improvements. Innovative solutions, such as redesigned elevator placements to avoid utility relocations and a two-week bypass strategy for platform reconstruction, minimized community disruption and improved safety. The project exceeded DBE participation goals and achieved substantial cost savings, while enhancing mobility and equity for all riders. Integrating Climate Actions into MTA Capital Programs. This project developed a comprehensive climate vulnerability assessment and sustainability strategy for MTA Construction & Development. Innovations included a custom geoprocessing model, Transit Avoided Carbon methodology and alignment with environmental policies. The findings directly informed MTA's 20-Year Capital Needs Assessment and the 2024 Climate Resilience Roadmap. "These awards reflect the dedication and ingenuity of our teams in solving complex challenges and delivering impactful infrastructure for New Yorkers," said Michael Mangione, HNTB's New York office leader and senior vice president. "We're proud to partner with agencies like the MTA and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to advance mobility, accessibility and sustainability across the region."
