- Perform evaluations, set functional and objective goals, and plan treatment programs for each patient referral in collaboration with the Sports Medicine Physician.
- Respond to patient questions regarding treatment plans and rehabilitation, and reevaluate plans and goals with patients in a timely manner.
- Manage patient flow and perform patient rooming standards under the physician's direction.
- Provide initial rehabilitation exercises and instruction, demonstration, and feedback on patient exercise performance as directed by the attending physician.
- Fit and instruct patients in the use of splints, crutches, braces, wraps, and other durable medical equipment as directed by the attending physician.
- Assist the supervising physician by scribing thorough and accurate documentation of the patient's physical examination and treatment plan.
- Triage and screen calls related to patient care.
- Complete clinical documentation promptly according to department expectations.
- Establish and maintain relationships with area high school, collegiate, and industrial Licensed Athletic Trainers to expedite referrals to the supervising physician and coordinate quality care based on the physician's recommendations.
- Practice in accordance with National Athletic Trainers Association standards, its Code of Ethics, and the requirements of the state of employment.
- Maintain a constant state of alertness and work safely.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Room patients, develop and instruct home exercise programs, fit durable medical equipment, document progress notes, scribe for the physician, triage phone calls, and schedule referrals and procedures.
