Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction or Project Management, Business Administration, Transportation, or a related field.
  • Must have a minimum of fourteen (14) years of related experience.
  • Must have a minimum of ten (10) years in managing design projects or supervisory roles in a large, multi-faceted organization.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • A licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) is required.
  • Significant experience in design project management for major construction projects with highly complex systems preferred.
  • Experience leading and managing contractors, subcontractors, or vendors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a high-profile, high-pressure environment effectively.
  • Must have focus and ability to deliver on results, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
  • Must be a proven leader as a change agent and creative/innovative thinker with the ability to align business goals with solutions to drive process improvements.
  • Must possess excellent team-building, listening, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
Responsibilities
  • Overseesthe entire design/design compliance review team.
  • Fosters a culture of innovation and change in design delivery methods, technologies, and strategy.
  • Provide the Delivery Service Office with lessons learned and strategies to streamline design reviews and creates training opportunities across integrated project teams.
  • Establishes, monitors, and audits the Design-Builder's design and engineering activities for compliance with the Contract requirements and the Design-Builder's Quality Control Plan.
  • Escalates issues to Vice President Design –Signals & Train Controls& Business Unit leadership as they arise amongst technical problems within projects/teams/third parties.
  • Provides ultimate technical recommendations for any/all escalated items.
