Requirements
- One to three years of fire protection system design experience is required.
- Eligibility to work in the United States is required.
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Design, Architectural Design, Mechanical Design, Interior Design, or a related field is accepted, although equivalent experience may substitute for the degree.
Responsibilities
- Design fire protection systems using AutoCAD, HydraCAD, HydraCALC, and HydraLIST.
- Build hydraulic calculations and job specifications.
- Keep projects on track and on timeline while working independently.
- Partner with Project Managers on cost estimation, budgets, and margins.
- Visit job sites to scope projects from the ground up.
- Solve design problems as they arise.
- Lead coordination meetings.
- Mentor Fire Protection Designer I team members.
- Serve as a go-to resource for Sprinkler Fitters in the field.
Desired Qualifications
- NICET Level II certification or willingness to obtain it while employed.
- Working knowledge of NFPA standards, building and fire codes, and building materials.
- Hands-on experience with HydraCAD, HydraCALC, and HydraLIST.
- Experience working with Project Managers on estimates.
- Experience supporting Sprinkler Fitters in the field.
- Experience leading coordination meetings.
