Requirements
  • Typically three (3) years’ experience working at ABS as a Senior Surveyor; or
  • A combination of experience working at ABS as a Senior Surveyor along with other experience in a relevant discipline totaling five (5) years of ABS experience.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with the ABS HSQEMS requirements regarding survey operations and support functions within the HSQE Department, are fulfilled.
  • Support the administration of the HSQEMS:
  • Assist the HSQE department in assuring that the survey procedures and process/work instructions within the HSQEMS are technically sound, conform to the referenced Standards in the MSM.
  • Perform internal audits of the ABS HSQEMS on a worldwide basis as assigned.
  • Maintains audit records in an orderly and up-to-date manner in their area of responsibility.
  • Discharge the duties of an escort during external management system audits or flag Administration oversight audits.
  • Provide support for the technical aspects of work throughout ABS through:
  • Assist with evaluating and/or reporting on key performance indicators and operating data as requested by department management of HSQE.
  • Assist with development of new concepts, improvements to existing processes to enhance ABS survey consistency.
  • Keep informed of the product and service capabilities of the ABS marine business. Assist in identifying improvement and developmental needs, related to the development of technology, technical tools, or technical information in support of applicable customer’s needs.
  • Assist department management of HSQE in identifying improvements and use of technical tools or technical information in support of survey-related total quality.
  • Undertake other tasks and projects as may be assigned by department management of HSQE.
Desired Qualifications
  • Qualifications from a tertiary institution within a relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum two (2) years program); or
  • Qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant seagoing experience as a certificated ship officer, and
  • Proficiency in English language commensurate with their future work
  • ISO 9001 or ISO 45001 preferred
