Requirements
  • An Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license in the state of Florida in good standing is required.
  • A Drug Enforcement Administration license and a Department of Transportation license are required.
  • Candidates must be U.S. citizens or otherwise authorized to work in the United States.
  • Candidates must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • The position requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, bending for extended periods, and sitting at a desk.
  • The role may require occasionally lifting or moving patients and equipment and performing tasks requiring physical dexterity.
Responsibilities
  • Interview clients and obtain and record health histories.
  • Perform physical and developmental assessments.
  • Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests.
  • Diagnose health problems and manage clients' health care.
  • Maintain health records and suggest referrals when necessary.
  • Carry out standard operating procedures and ensure office policies and procedures are applied fairly and consistently.
  • Perform physical examinations.
  • Conduct preventive screening procedures and communicate and record the results.
  • Identify medical and health risk factors and communicate them to patients.
  • Identify and prescribe appropriate pharmacologic agents and non-pharmacologic therapies within the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse's scope of practice.
  • Make appropriate patient referrals.
  • Update and record changes in patients' health status and diagnoses.
  • Determine the effectiveness of care plans and reassess or modify them as necessary.
  • Promote a safe patient environment.
  • Interact with professional colleagues through chart review, consultation, and referrals.
  • Administer twelve-lead electrocardiograms.
  • Suture simple and complex lacerations that do not require tendon or ligament repair.
  • Perform incision and drainage of abscesses.
  • Provide care for wounds and burns.
  • Apply splints.
  • Work with the Medical Director regarding patient diagnoses.
  • Remove foreign bodies when necessary.
  • Prescribe, initiate, monitor, modify, discontinue, or order drug therapies within the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse's scope of practice and applicable laws.
  • Prescribe medications within the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse's education, training, clinical competence, and scope of practice.
  • Prescribe Schedule II-V controlled substances when authorized and in compliance with Florida statutes, federal regulations, and Drug Enforcement Administration requirements.
  • Review records and treatment plans periodically with collaborating or consulting physicians as required by Florida law and organizational policy.
  • Work with the Assistant Medical Director to maintain compliance with clinical guidelines.
  • Complete charting within three working days of each patient encounter.
  • Adhere to ProHealth clinical guidelines.
  • Require patients with chronic conditions, such as diabetes or high blood pressure, to see a provider and complete laboratory testing before receiving a refill.
  • Ensure all state medical regulations are maintained.
  • Maintain current knowledge by attending educational programs.
  • Maintain certification in compliance with current state laws.
  • Provide patient education.
  • Submit prescriptions in a timely manner.
  • Perform other procedures for which the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse has been educated.
  • Implement and maintain Occupational Safety and Health Administration, safety, and healthcare practices and protocols within each branch.
  • Assist clinical staff with office management when required.
  • Work Monday through Saturday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., with additional hours as dictated by business and patient needs.
  • Travel periodically to other clinic sites when required.
  • Perform other assigned clinical and job-related duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two or more years of experience in a multisite medical setting is strongly preferred.
