Job Details
The primary function of the outpatient dietitian is to coordinate, promote, and provide outpatient nutrition services to the abdominal transplant population at every phase of transplantation. This position requires providing group and individual nutrition counseling to individuals pursuing transplant and those transplanted. This position will participate in all appropriate transplant team meetings and will participate in the program performance improvement initiatives. This position generally requires providing services to young adults, adult and older adult populations in a manner that demonstrates and understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.
Job Description
EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
B.S. in Nutrition or Dietetics is required
Master’s degree in related area is preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION:
Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as RD or RDN
Member of the American Dietetics Association
Pennsylvania Dietitian/Nutritionist License (LDN)
Certified Clinical Transplant Dietitian (CCTD) certification within 2 years of becoming eligible based on eligibility criteria.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
3-5 years hospital/critical care experience required
Experience with solid organ transplant patients preferred
