Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field of study is required.
  • At least 8 years of related work experience is required.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and independently apply federal and state healthcare regulatory requirements to organizational operations, including identifying operational impact and formulating a recommended response.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent work streams to established deadlines without supervisory structuring of priorities.
  • Ability to communicate complex regulatory or risk findings in writing to non-specialist audiences, including business operations leaders and executive staff, without requiring technical translation.
  • Ability to conduct or lead investigations, including evidence collection, interview management, and production of a written substantiation analysis sufficient for legal review.
Responsibilities
  • Independently manage a defined compliance program area from annual work plan development through execution, monitoring, reporting, and closure.
  • Analyze complex and novel regulatory requirements, federal and state guidance documents, and enforcement trends, and produce written regulatory impact analyses identifying required operational changes, responsible business units, and recommended implementation timelines.
  • Design and execute monitoring and auditing activities, including selecting review methodologies, designing samples, collecting data, documenting findings, and presenting results in writing to the Manager or Director.
  • Lead Principal-level compliance investigations by coordinating information collection, conducting or managing interviews, documenting evidentiary findings, and producing written investigative reports with substantiation analyses and recommended corrective actions for Director review.
  • Develop, draft, and revise compliance policies, standards, and procedures for Director or Associate Officer review and approval, ensuring they reflect current regulatory requirements and are operationally executable.
  • Identify compliance gaps through proactive program assessment and document each gap with a risk severity rating, root cause analysis, and remediation plan with an assigned implementation owner.
  • Manage cross-functional compliance projects by developing work plans, assigning tasks to participating staff, tracking milestones, and escalating risks or delays with documented options analyses.
  • Prepare regulatory analysis memoranda, program status reports, and executive summary presentations communicating findings and recommendations to Director- and Vice President-level leadership.
  • Contribute to the annual enterprise compliance risk assessment by identifying and documenting risks, scoring them using the established severity and likelihood methodology, and submitting the assigned risk-register section to the Director.
  • Monitor published regulatory guidance, enforcement actions, and material industry developments, and produce written impact summaries identifying operational effects and recommended organizational responses within 30 days of material issuance.
  • Serve as the primary compliance point of contact for assigned operational business partners by conducting regular touchpoints, communicating program requirements, and tracking open compliance commitments through closure.
  • Attend on-site meetings while working from home.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in an integrated delivery network operating across both provider and payer environments simultaneously.
  • Experience presenting compliance, risk, or privacy program findings directly to Director or Associate Officer-level leadership.
  • An advanced degree such as a Juris Doctor, Master of Public Health, Master of Business Administration, Master of Health Administration, or Master of Science in a relevant field, or an active advanced professional certification such as Certified in Healthcare Compliance, Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance, Certified in Healthcare Research Compliance, Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States, or equivalent.
