Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling from an accredited college or university is required.
  • State of Michigan certifications or licensure specified by the program are required.
  • The therapist must practice according to the Code of Ethics of their profession.
  • Knowledge of community resources, direct counseling, therapeutic services, and child welfare programs is required.
  • The ability to communicate verbally and in writing, complete paperwork, meet deadlines, engage clients in treatment, communicate with outside agencies while maintaining HIPAA requirements, and address issues affecting indigent populations is required.
  • A valid driver's license or ability to drive for agency business is required by the driving duty.
Responsibilities
  • Facilitate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy groups for court-ordered adults.
  • Provide evidence-based group interventions for justice-involved individuals participating in court-ordered programming.
  • Complete clinical documentation and collaborate with court officers as required by the contract.
  • Provide counseling, psychoeducational services, screenings, and assessments.
  • Coordinate services as required by the program.
  • Provide case consultation within the agency and with community resources.
  • Plan and provide educational presentations as requested.
  • Maintain productivity expectations.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork as required.
  • Provide emergency assistance to clients.
  • Drive for agency business.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working with justice-involved adults or court-ordered populations.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices, group facilitation, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care.
