Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Traffic Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree in Transportation Systems, Urban Mobility, or Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) is a plus.
  • 15+ years of experience in traffic engineering, transport planning, and road network integration for large-scale railway/metro projects.
  • Proven expertise in traffic impact studies, multimodal transport planning, and traffic signal optimization.
  • Strong experience in road safety audits (RSA), traffic control plan (TCP) design, and temporary traffic management (TTM) for metro construction.
  • Proficiency in transport modeling software such as VISSIM, SIDRA, Synchro, Aimsun, Cube, and HCS.
  • Knowledge of UAE transportation regulations, AASHTO, RTA guidelines, and global transport standards.
  • Experience with Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), adaptive traffic signals, and real-time traffic management solutions.
  • Familiarity with Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) strategies, public transport accessibility planning, and first/last-mile solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct traffic impact studies to assess the effects of railway/metro development on surrounding road networks.
  • Analyze traffic flow patterns, capacity constraints, and intersection performance to ensure efficient mobility.
  • Utilize transportation modeling software (e.g., SIDRA, VISSIM, Synchro, Aimsun) to simulate and optimize traffic conditions.
  • Prepare detailed reports and recommendations on traffic mitigation measures, diversions, and road improvements.
  • Develop and review traffic signalization plans, road markings, and signage layouts for optimal traffic management.
  • Design and implement traffic control plans (TCPs) and temporary traffic management (TTM) schemes to minimize disruptions during metro construction.
  • Ensure smooth integration of metro station access points, bus feeder systems, and pedestrian crossings into the urban transport network.
  • Work closely with civil and rail engineers to ensure effective multimodal transport planning and intermodal connectivity.
  • Conduct road safety audits (RSA) and risk assessments to enhance pedestrian and vehicular safety around metro stations and tracks.
  • Ensure all traffic solutions comply with UAE transportation regulations, AASHTO, FHWA, RTA, and international best practices.
  • Address safety concerns by implementing speed control measures, pedestrian-friendly designs, and smart traffic signal systems.
  • Integrate ITS solutions such as adaptive traffic signals, real-time traffic monitoring, and connected vehicle technology to improve traffic efficiency.
  • Support the deployment of smart mobility initiatives, including automated traffic enforcement, AI-driven traffic prediction models, and digital twin technologies for transport planning.
  • Analyze and recommend the implementation of Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) strategies to promote sustainable urban mobility.
  • Collaborate with government authorities, transport agencies, and metro project teams to align traffic engineering solutions with project goals.
  • Engage with urban planners, civil engineers, and metro operators to ensure seamless integration of road and rail systems.
  • Provide expert guidance on traffic-related challenges during the construction and operational phases of the railway project.
  • Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and presentations for stakeholders, highlighting traffic engineering insights and recommendations.
