Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Deliver guest experience commitments to create an Easy, Inspiring, and Friendly guest experience.
  • Ensure every team member understands, is trained, and consistently delivers Target’s guest experience commitments and consistent operations.
  • Observe team performance, provide feedback, hold team members accountable, and recognize strong guest experience moments.
  • Review guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, take action to improve results, align the team on behaviors and execution, and elevate the guest experience.
  • Lead daily and weekly workload execution for department and store sales goals and guest engagement, including receiving products, merchandising, signing, setting and updating merchandise sales floor displays, sampling, restocking shelves, organizing backrooms, and processing price changes for General Merchandise areas.
  • Educate the team on operational procedures, including merchandise setup and organization, product accuracy and stock levels, and sales floor maintenance, and explain their effects on inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
  • Assess General Merchandise process reporting to identify gaps and assist in developing resolution plans for direct leader review and approval.
  • Assign daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns, aligned with business priorities.
  • Help establish clear goals and expectations and hold team members accountable to them.
  • Lead pick, pack, and ship fulfillment work accurately when applicable, assess fulfillment reporting, identify gaps, and assist in developing improvement plans.
  • Ensure products are in stock, available, accurately priced, and signed on the sales floor while prioritizing guest experience.
  • Collaborate with store teams and leaders, including the closing team, to identify priorities and keep the store guest-ready.
  • Relay relevant Target communications about trends and products during team connection moments.
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team as directed by the direct leader.
  • Support team onboarding and learning, close skill gaps through development and coaching, and identify team members for future leadership positions.
  • Build a talent pool within the department through growth and development activities.
  • Support guest services, including backup cashier and digital fulfillment processes, while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.
  • Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches and creating equitable experiences.
  • Follow Target policies, safety procedures, and role-specific guidelines, including food safety and pricing requirements.
  • Report and correct hazards and hold the team accountable for maintaining a safe and compliant workplace.
  • Lead and demonstrate a safety culture by modeling and recognizing safe behaviors, identifying and correcting hazards, holding the team accountable to safety expectations, assisting with incident response, and reporting and investigating injuries accurately and promptly.
  • Model physical security processes to enhance the in-store security culture.
  • Support merchandise protection strategies across the total store, including ordering, storage, and application according to best practices.
  • Follow safe and secure training and processes as a key carrier when applicable.
  • Occasionally assume store-level leader-on-duty responsibilities during assigned shifts based on store needs.
  • Address store emergency and compliance needs.
  • Perform other duties based on business needs.
