Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience, or six years of construction-related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, technical procedures, and government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of workers involved with the project.
  • Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, geometry, and trigonometry to practical situations.
  • Ability to analyze and compute mathematical differences from all stages of drawings, from conceptual to final drawings, including development of shop drawings.
  • Understanding of cost accounting.
  • Basic understanding of construction software such as Primavera, Timberline, Vista, or similar software.
  • Ability to understand, customize, and modify spreadsheets.
  • Ability to direct work and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of co-workers.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to define problems, collect information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to develop construction schedules using the critical path method.

Responsibilities
  • Generate and obtain approvals for monthly billing and earned values.
  • Develop and manage project schedules on small or mid-sized projects.
  • Analyze targets and goals, job cost summaries, and other reports.
  • Alert the Superintendent and Project Manager about project impacts related to resource management and crew makeup or size.
  • Generate and obtain approval for the initial budget and subsequent updates, review weekly job cost summaries, and advise the Project Manager.
  • Generate estimates of change orders and interface with pre-construction on original bids as needed.
  • Collaborate with pre-construction and the project team to manage the job transition process, communicate project requirements, and develop initial procurement plans and budgets.
  • Generate material quantity take-offs, scoping documents, terms and conditions, and delivery documentation as applicable to support procurement.
  • Generate requests for proposals, solicit and review quotations, and recommend procurement decisions to the Project Manager.
  • Prepare field purchase orders for standard purchase packages and generate and obtain approval for major purchase orders.
  • Gather and rough in monthly financial reports and participate in project financial reviews.
  • Work with the Project Manager to approve and code project invoices.
  • Generate and obtain approval for technical records, including constructability reports, requests for information, inspection records, work packages, and deviation reports.
  • Coordinate with the Superintendent, Field Project Engineer, and Line and Grade personnel to generate required as-built records.
  • Manage work package closure, punch lists, and project turnover, and approve pre- and post-pour checklists.
  • Collect documentation to identify and determine the impact of potential contract changes, disputes, and claims.
  • Lead the LEAN/SQP committee and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with subcontract terms and generate and obtain approval for impact notices as needed.
  • Review and confirm reports documenting company and subcontractor compliance with prevailing wage, workforce utilization, and MBE/SBE participation, and advise the Project Manager of issues.
  • Interface with Safety and Risk Management to establish clinics, manage first reports of injuries, and assist with co-worker case management.
  • Follow company recruitment and hiring guidelines.
  • Conduct new-hire orientation and process E-Verify when applicable and certified.
  • Coordinate tracking and completion of training requirements with project management when applicable.
