Requirements
  • Ph.D degree in physics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in spintronics and magnetic device modeling and design, particularly in the HDD and/or MRAM industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in micro-magnetic modeling (and tools), Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and/or general electromagnetic simulation tools.
  • Experience with FEA pre-processing tools (geometry engines and meshing) and 3D visualization tools such as Paraview.
  • Proficiency in scripting programming languages such as Python/MATLAB, or similar tools, for modeling execution automation and data analysis.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment and effectively collaborate with other teams.
  • Strong verbal communication and documentation skills.
Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and simulation of next generation writer/reader head models.
  • Analyze data from simulations and experimental DOEs to provide root cause physics understanding and design improvement options.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including process and characterization engineers.
  • Document and communicate clear and actionable conclusions to both the design and process teams.
  • Contribute to definition of future roadmaps.
