Requirements
  • The candidate must be a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Illinois.
  • The candidate must have at least one year of experience in a medical and surgical setting.
  • The candidate must pass a physical examination, drug screen, 50-pound lift test, fingerprint-based criminal background check, and reference check.
Responsibilities
  • Provide resident and nursing care according to physician orders, recognized nursing techniques and procedures, established standards, and administrative policies.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of nursing observations and care.
  • Perform all functions in compliance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Joint Commission, and state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate and interpret goals of care to residents and their families or caregivers.
  • Provide direct nursing care to clients and manage the day-to-day activities performed by Certified Nursing Assistants as part of a team.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
  • Provide education and guidance to clients and their families on disease processes and management.
  • Ensure adequate medical supplies are available to meet patients' medical needs.
  • Receive and review nursing reports at the beginning of the shift and compile nursing reports at the end of the shift.
  • Monitor vital signs in accordance with residents' treatment plans.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience in long-term care is preferred but not required.
