Requirements
  • 9 years' experience with a high school diploma or equivalent; or 5 years' experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years with a Master's degree.
  • Experience in technical editing and writing and have strong writing and editing skills, including ability to manipulate usage and grammar.
  • Ability to research engineering data, technical manuals, and utilize subject matter experts, team members, and established processes to complete technical authoring under very general supervision.
  • Experience in proofing/editing, interpreting engineering documentation to include wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Experienced in querying authors for clarity and compliance purposes and must be skilled in Microsoft Word, MS excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Possess an active DoD Secret security clearance and be able to maintain that clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and retain Special Program access clearance within 365 days from submission.
Responsibilities
  • write, rewrite and/or edit technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences.
  • acquire subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals.
  • negotiate and integrate different viewpoints, relay, and receive information and collaborate in a team environment as well as conduct quality reviews of written content.
