We have an opportunity for a skilled lawyer to join a fun, dynamic and collaborative legal team. Experience in the consumer-facing digital health space and some litigation experience is a plus.  In this role you will be a key member of our legal team and with a broad range of legal matters. The right person is comfortable being a generalist, but should have experience in, or willing to roll up their sleeves and learn, corporate governance, employment law, and commercial transactions.     

What You’ll Do

• Serve as in-house counsel to an expanding comprehensive consumer healthcare platform that meets people where they are in their personal journeys and connects them with both the information and the care they need.
• Work with our Human Resources team across a range of employment law matters.  You’ll provide legal advice and counsel in partnership with the Deputy General Counsel to our Human Resources partners and Employee Operations partners on a broad range of labor and employment law matters, including, but not limited to, the hiring process, compensation, employee relations, background checks, discipline and termination, immigration matters, WARN, equity and inclusion, accommodations, leaves of absences, employee benefits, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation at the federal and state levels.
• Draft, review, and revise policies, practices, and processes as it relates to Human Resources, Employee Benefits, and Code of Conduct matters, and partner with relevant stakeholders to support implementation.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including Master Services Agreements, advertising technology contracts, data agreements, and software and technology licenses. 
• Work with the business teams to create templates and guidelines to allow teams to independently address common commercial needs. 
• Work on general corporate matters as they come up and support the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel in work related to the Board of Directors. Experience including drafting board resolutions, reviewing, and drafting corporate organizational documents, as well as experience with stock and incentives plans and some exposure to M&A is a plus. 

What We’re Looking For

• RVO Health is building out a legal team comprised of lawyers who excel at collaboration, possess an exceptional ability to distill complex areas of the law into advice that is digestible and actionable by our business clients, and who are solution oriented and focused on facilitating business objectives.  You must be egoless, value collaboration, and be ready to put in the hard work to accomplish whatever the job demands. 
• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school and member of the bar of a U.S. jurisdiction
• 6+ years of legal experience
• Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and navigate amid uncertainty with a can-do, problem-solving attitude is a must! We are not the legal team of “no” or ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ - instead we are equal parts risk identifiers and problem solvers. And if you can liven up your legal advice with some humor, that is a plus (and always encouraged).

Pursuant to various state Fair Pay Acts, below is a summary of compensation elements for this role at the company. The following benefits are provided by RVO Health, subject to eligibility requirements.

• Starting Salary: $120,000 - $175,000
  *Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications and experience

Founded in 2022, RVO Health is a new healthcare platform of digital media brands, services and technologies focused on building relationships with people throughout their health & wellness journey. We meet people where they are in their personal health journeys and connect them with both the information and the care they need. RVO Health was created by joining teams from both Red Ventures and UnitedHealth Group’s Optum Health. Together we’re focused on delivering on our vision of a stronger and healthier world. 

RVO Health is comprised of Healthline Media (Healthline, Medical News Today, Psych Central, Greatist and Bezzy), Healthgrades, FindCare and PlateJoy; Optum Perks, Optum Store and the virtual coaching platforms Real Appeal, Wellness Coaching, and QuitForLife.
