Requirements
  • Graduated from an Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology degree.
  • Be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency or Speech Pathology Australia, or be eligible for registration upon graduation.
  • Commit to developing professional abilities through learning and tenacity.
  • Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Communicate clearly and simply so supported people can understand the services provided.
Responsibilities
  • Provide therapeutic, positive behaviour, or employment support services to people with disability in the community or at accessible clinics.
  • Understand the needs and barriers of people supported, then develop and action plans that build capacity and maximise independence.
  • Participate in the 12-month Graduate Program, including a six-week induction, monthly clinical workshops, personal growth sessions, weekly one-to-one supervision, group supervision, and fortnightly training.
  • Build knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and develop report-writing skills.
  • Choose an appropriate work setting, including home, clinical hubs, or team spaces.
