- An Associate's degree in behavioral health or a related field, or equivalent years of experience and education.
- No experience is required.
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- The role requires constant standing and walking, frequent oral communication, hearing, lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 pounds, reaching, gripping, keyboard use and data entry, and near and far vision.
- The role occasionally requires bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting, repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements, judging distances and spatial relationships, lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 pounds, lifting/moving patients, using smell to detect odors, and driving.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living.
- Provide or assist with direct patient care and therapeutic interventions based on patient care assignments from a registered nurse.
- Observe and record patient behavior and activities, report changes in condition, and suggest modifications to the treatment plan.
- Establish a therapeutic relationship with assigned patients.
- Apply knowledge of group dynamics when participating in therapeutic groups and maintaining the milieu.
- Monitor patients to ensure safety, including rounding and environmental and safety checks.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Inpatient psychiatric experience is preferred.
