  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from a nationally accredited college or university is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10–15 years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
  • A minimum of 5–7 years of experience leading a quality program and managing a team is required.
  • Thorough working knowledge of regulatory agency quality assurance and quality control activities is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • The ability to travel and relocate as business requires is required.
  • The candidate must successfully complete a pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
  • The candidate must maintain a valid driver's license and required endorsements.
  • The candidate must successfully complete a pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen.
  • The candidate must successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing annually.
  • The candidate must meet the role's color and vision examination requirements and be able to distinguish required auditory signals.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise Quality Inspectors and coordinate with project management to facilitate inspections, audits, and construction surveillance verifying compliance with codes, standards, specifications, and drawings.
  • Work with project management to staff projects with qualified inspection and test personnel.
  • Manage training programs according to project procedures and monitor training effectiveness.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality procedures to meet assigned project goals.
  • Implement the quality plan and verify that appropriate materials and equipment are available for inspection and testing.
  • Review and approve project documents to verify that quality-program requirements are addressed and determine the quality program's applicability to special process areas.
  • Execute the Quality Plan and verify implementation through audits.
  • Interact with field operations personnel to verify that quality requirements are understood and construction conforms through auditing, inspection, and surveillance programs.
  • Manage project documents and records according to applicable requirements and document-control processes.
  • Administer and maintain project audit programs.
  • Manage subcontractor quality through auditing, inspection, surveillance, and monitoring programs.
  • Monitor and track corrective and preventive actions.
  • Facilitate calibration-control processes.
  • Audit for compliance with contract specifications.
  • Work with construction supervisors, schedulers, and planners to develop and implement the project Quality Plan and verify that project scope and schedule are understood.
  • Work with project management, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve work procedures, client concerns, and non-compliant work.
  • Maintain regular and consistent engagement with and promotion of Herzog's culture and essential behaviors.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work primarily in an office environment and perform the required sitting, keyboard, standing, walking, lifting, stooping, and bending activities.
  • Report safety violations to the immediate supervisor.
Desired Qualifications
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer is desirable.
