Quality Manager

Herzog Contracting Corp. is currently seeking a Quality Manager for Light Rail, Commuter Rail, and Streetcar construction projects throughout the United States to join our team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

*This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.

• Supervise Quality Inspectors and coordinate with project management to facilitate inspections, audits, and construction surveillance necessary to verify performance to codes, standards, specifications, and drawings.
• Work with project management to staff the project with qualified inspection and test personnel as required.
• Manage training programs in accordance with project procedures and monitor training effectiveness.
• Develop, implement, and maintain applicable quality procedures to meet assigned project goals.
• Implement the quality plan in areas of assigned responsibility and verify appropriate materials and equipment are available for inspection and testing.
• Review and approve applicable project documents to verify appropriate elements of the quality program have been addressed and determine the extent and applicability of the quality program to any special process areas.
• Execute the Quality Plan and verify implementation through audits.
• Actively interact with field operation personnel on applicable project site(s) to verify all quality requirements are understood/built according to said requirements through an auditing, inspection and surveillance programs.
• Manage processing of project documents and records according to applicable requirements or document control processes.
• Administer and maintain all project audit program(s).
• Manage subcontractor quality through an auditing, inspection and surveillance and monitoring program
• Monitor and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Facilitate calibration control processes.
• Audit for compliance with contract specification
• Work closely with construction supervisors, schedulers, and planners in development and implementation of the project Quality Plan and verification that the project scope and schedule is completely understood.
• Work with project management, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, client concerns and non-compliant work
• Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position.
• Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, preferred, or Construction Management from a nationally accredited college or university; and a minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of leading a quality program and team management experience required.
• Registered Professional Engineer desirable.
• Thorough working knowledge of regulatory agency quality assurance/quality control activities.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills required.
• Ability to travel and relocate as business requires.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and endorsements as required per position.
• Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position.
• Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.
