Grow Therapy and Stanford University launch research partnership to establish clinical safety standards in AI for mental health. Updated: June 24, 2026 Inaugural study will produce one of the first psychiatric specialist-validated benchmarks for evaluating clinical risk in AI responses to real-world mental health conversations. NEW YORK, June 23, 2026 - Grow Therapy (Grow) today announced a research partnership with Stanford University focused on developing rigorous, evidence-based standards for the safe use of artificial intelligence (AI) in mental health care. The partnership is led by Principal Investigator Jonathan Chen, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine at Stanford, in collaboration with Stanford Psychiatry. The inaugural study will measure the responses of leading AI models to mental health crises and evaluate which design choices most effectively reduce harm as well as handle these situations appropriately. Stanford will work from de-identified clinical cases involving client safety concerns, drawn from conversations routed for human review by screening systems of Grow's AI coach, a conversational tool its clients use between sessions with their therapist. Researchers, including a panel of psychiatrists, will then: * Evaluate how often leading AI models give harmful responses to these sensitive scenarios; * Test whether layering models with a dedicated safety reviewer reduces that harm; and, * Evaluate other safety mechanisms designed to elicit, from the mental health specialists' point-of-view, more responsible responses. This independent validation will give the field of large language models (LLMs) a shared framework for assessing what responses should be in the context of mental health conversations. Why Grow. Grow's AI coach was built by mental health professionals specifically for supporting clients between their therapy sessions, with multiple safety layers embedded from the outset. Each conversation is automatically scored for clinical quality, tone, and risk, and flagged interactions are reviewed by licensed clinicians. Grow's approach is informed by an external AI advisory panel of independent experts spanning clinical psychology, clinical AI research, ethics, and mental health epidemiology. "It is essential that the mental health field develop evidence-based benchmarks for safe AI responses," said Manoj Kanagaraj, MD, Chief Strategy Officer and Co-Founder of Grow Therapy. "We believe the strongest model keeps a licensed therapist in the loop, as ours does, but we recognize that some people may turn to general-purpose LLMs for mental health support. Partnering with Dr. Chen and his team at Stanford will establish clear standards, leveraging Grow's real-world experience, to create a shared yardstick for AI safety in mental health. Our hope is that this work results in fewer harms reaching the people who turn to LLMs of any kind for mental health aid, especially general-purpose ones not designed for it." While much of the field relies on synthetic testing, Grow contributes the real-world scenarios that make a credible clinical benchmark possible. Media Contact About Grow Therapy. Grow Therapy partners with Amazon to provide employee mental health benefits. Updated: April 23, 2026 The companies design a new model to make effective mental health care simpler to access for more than one million employees. New York, NY, April 23, 2026 - Grow Therapy (Grow), a mental health platform empowering providers to deliver exceptional in-person and online therapy and psychiatric care, announced a partnership with Amazon that enhances the traditional Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Grow believes that when someone takes the step to seek mental health care, the path forward should be simple and seamless. For many people, that journey starts with their EAP, and through this partnership with Amazon, Grow is improving that experience from the very first session. "We want our employees to be able to access the support they need, when they need it," said Chris Decou, Amazon Global Director of Health Benefits. "Partnering with Grow makes it easier for employees to find a high-quality mental health provider without disruption, and it's another way we're continuously improving the benefits and resources we offer to support their well-being." Through this innovative solution, while maintaining the EAP's separate status, Grow now provides Amazon employees who need additional counseling with continuity of care options aligned to their applicable insurance plan. Amazon's redesigned EAP provided by Grow for full-time, regular U.S.-based employees is now available, and benefits include: * No-cost care for their first six therapy sessions through the EAP and a pathway to transition to covered providers after. * Nationwide care across all 50 states. * Access to thousands of vetted providers with dozens of specialties. * Flexible care options with virtual and in-person care available days, nights and weekends. * Faster scheduling with appointments available in two to three days. * Continuous support between visits: Through the Grow mobile app, clients have free access to clinically guided AI tools that support self-reflection between sessions. With a client's consent, relevant insights can be shared with the provider ahead of the next visit to keep time together focused and productive. "Our mission at Grow is to help people find incredible mental health care, no matter who they are, where they live, or what their occupation happens to be," said Jake Cooper, Co-founder and CEO of Grow. "Building on Amazon's existing EAP is a real opportunity to expand access to mental health support for employees from all backgrounds. That's exactly what Grow aims to do in our work with large employers." Media Contacts: About Grow Therapy. Grow Therapy appoints Seth Bressack Chief Financial Officer. Updated: April 14, 2026 Former Shopify finance leader joins Grow Therapy as mental health company scales following $150 million Series D and $3 billion valuation. New York, NY, April 15, 2026 - Grow Therapy (Grow), a mental health platform empowering providers to deliver exceptional in-person and online therapy and psychiatric care, today announced Seth Bressack as the company's first Chief Financial Officer. Bressack joins at a moment of significant momentum: Grow recently raised a $150 million Series D financing that brought its valuation to $3 billion and was named one of "The Americas' Fastest Growing Companies" by The Financial Times. In this newly created role, Bressack will lead Grow's finance function and help the company scale with operating rigor and disciplined capital allocation. He will partner across the business to strengthen planning and decision-making as Grow expands its reach with insurers, rolls out new employer offerings, and deepens integrations with health systems and primary care providers that make the path from screening to treatment more seamless. "As Seth and I got to know each other, it became clear he's an incredible operator and teammate. He cares deeply about our mission, operates with humility and principles, and shares a tenacity to not just succeed but to get a little better each day," said Jake Cooper, CEO and Co-Founder of Grow Therapy. "At this stage of Grow, having a finance leader of Seth's caliber changes what's possible: it lets us invest more thoughtfully, plan with more precision, and build the kind of durable company that our providers, clients, and payor partners deserve. We're building for the long term, and Seth makes us meaningfully better at that." Bressack brings more than two decades of finance and business operations experience spanning seed-stage startups, high-growth software and public companies. Most recently, as Vice President of Finance at Shopify, Bressack managed multi-billion dollar investments in marketing, sales, partnerships and infrastructure, navigating through multiple inflection points in business scale and complexity, as the business grew sevenfold during his tenure and expanded upmarket and internationally. He helped modernize the company's financial planning and reporting, improve marketing efficiency and optimize pricing for long-term impact. He also supported the company's investor and analyst communications. Earlier in his career, he helped scale MikMak as SVP of Operations, led strategy and commercial operations at Sailthru, and spent seven years at Boston Consulting Group, where he rose to Principal. "Grow has a clear and effective approach to improving how people find and stay connected to mental health care," said Bressack. "The team has built something rare: a model that improves access and experience while also creating long-term durability. That combination is what drew me here, and I'm energized by the opportunity ahead to help the company scale with focus and intention." Grow's momentum reflects both market demand and deepening platform strength. It recently launched an enterprise offering to modernize employee assistance programs (EAP) by redesigning employer-sponsored mental health benefits. This allows people to transition from company-paid visits directly to insurance-covered care with the same provider, eliminating a common friction point with traditional EAPs. On the care-delivery side, Grow is deepening integrations with primary care groups, such as Circle Medical, so physicians can coordinate referrals, share relevant context and reduce friction from screening to treatment. Grow is also continuing to invest in clinically guided AI technology. The company has launched AI-assisted tools for providers and clients, including an AI journaling tool that supports clients in-between sessions. Media Contact: About Grow Therapy. Telehealth Boom: virtual sessions changing Bel Air Mental Health access. In 2026, the "Telehealth Boom" has officially transitioned from an emergency measure to a permanent pillar of Maryland's healthcare system. Data from early 2026 shows that over 45% of mental health visits in the U.S. are now conducted virtually - a staggering contrast to the mere 3% seen in non-behavioral medical fields. For residents in Bel Air, this shift means that high-quality care is no longer restricted by the traffic on Route 24 or the constraints of a traditional 9-to-5 workday. At Favor Mental Health, Favor Mental Health Services has embraced this evolution, utilizing secure, HIPAA-compliant platforms like Grow Therapy to ensure that its clients receive seamless, integrated care whether they are in its office or on their couch. Why telehealth is dominating in 2026. The reason for this "Virtual First" shift is simple: Eliminating Logistical Friction. In a fast-paced environment like Harford County, the "cost" of therapy isn't just the copay - it's the hour of commuting, the struggle for childcare, and the stress of leaving work early. The key benefits for Bel Air residents: * Expanded Insurance Coverage: In 2026, Maryland has made temporary "payment parity" laws permanent. This means your insurance must cover a telehealth session at the same rate as an in-person visit, making virtual care more affordable than ever. * Continuity of Care: Hybrid models - a mix of in-person and virtual sessions - are the new "Gold Standard." Research shows that hybrid patients average 8 times more visits than those using only one method, as it allows therapy to fit into life's unpredictable moments. * Specialized Matching: Platforms like Grow Therapy allow you to filter for specific identities, specialties, and languages, ensuring you aren't just seeing a local therapist, but the right therapist for your unique needs. The Favor Mental Health & Grow Therapy advantage. By partnering with Grow Therapy, Favor Mental Health Services provide its Bel Air clients with a "digital-first" experience that prioritizes your time and data security. * The Therapy Toolkit: Its platform includes a library of clinically vetted resources, from journaling prompts to mood trackers, that you can access between sessions to reinforce your progress. * Between-Session Reflections: You no longer have to wait a week to share a breakthrough. Its secure messaging allows for "reflections" that your therapist can review before your next meeting. * AI-Assisted Efficiency: Favor Mental Health Services utilize AI summarization tools to handle administrative note-taking. This means your therapist spends less time looking at a screen and more time looking at you, fostering a deeper therapeutic rapport. * No-Download Access: Its telehealth portal works directly in your browser. No apps to install, no accounts to manage - just a secure link sent to your calendar. Is virtual right for you? While telehealth is transformative, it isn't a one-size-fits-all solution. At Favor Mental Health, Favor Mental Health Services help you decide which path is best. Virtual care is often ideal for: * Managing ADHD or Anxiety: Reducing the sensory overstimulation of a new environment. * Busy Professionals: Fitting a session into a lunch break or between hybrid work meetings. * Teens and Young Adults: Leveraging the digital comfort zone of Gen Z for more open communication. However, for those navigating severe trauma or acute crisis, Favor Mental Health Services often recommend starting with in-person sessions at its Gateway Drive office to build a strong physical and emotional foundation before transitioning to virtual. Care that fits your life, not the other way around. At Favor Mental Health, Favor Mental Health Services offer flexible virtual and in-person therapy in Bel Air, MD, ensuring that the support you need is always within reach.
