Requirements
  • A High School diploma and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; or an Associates Degree and 7 years of Network Communications/Administration experience; or a Bachelors degree and 5 years of Network Communications/Administration experience; or Masters and 3 years for relevant experience; PhD with zero years for relevant experience.
  • Have or obtain Security Plus (Sec+) Certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Able to complete initial qualification training within 365 days from program access and show continuous progress throughout the training program.
  • Willing/able to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Willing/able to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days- a-week, and 365 days a year.
  • Ability to meet medical requirements for worldwide travel.
  • Have and maintain a valid U.S. passport.
  • Accept customer furnished quarters for a period up to 90 days away from primary work location and comply with mobility requirements to include required immunizations and vaccinations.
  • Have a current DoD Top Secret security clearance and be able to maintain that clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and retain Special Program access clearance within 365 days from submission.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, evaluate, and coordinate installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of several integrated and specialized information systems.
  • Maintain technical expertise in all areas of information systems hardware/software, radio frequency and SATCOM communications systems, and interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • May propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings.
  • Prepares documentation or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including maintenance documentation and instructions.
  • Provides regular monitoring and analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
  • Ensures secure movement of information across a multi-classification level computing environment.
  • May coordinate third-party maintenance for equipment.
  • Supports integration and provides engineering feedback on effectiveness of system upgrades and modifications.
  • May design systems or portions of systems that include selection of hardware and software packages.
