Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience is considered.
  • At least 3 years of technical support, customer care, or field service experience with technical products is required.
  • Proficiency with customer relationship management systems and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Military service or direct experience supporting military or government customers is strongly preferred; familiarity with military rankings, roles, and terminology is required or must be developed quickly.
  • Hands-on experience building, repairing, and troubleshooting drones, first-person-view systems, radio-control devices, or similar electromechanical products is required.
  • Working knowledge of drone systems, including flight controllers, electronic speed controllers, motors, radio links, video transmission, GPS, batteries, and related firmware and software tools such as Betaflight or ArduPilot, is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to explain technical concepts clearly to users with varying technical backgrounds.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, and help desk support systems is helpful.
  • Candidates may be required to comply with United States export control regulations, including ITAR and EAR, and related eligibility requirements.
  • The role requires prolonged desk and computer work, frequent use of hands and wrists, effective communication, occasional lifting of equipment typically up to 40 pounds, sufficient visual acuity, manual dexterity with small components and soldering equipment, occasional overtime, and the ability to work in office, workshop, and outdoor field-test environments.
Responsibilities
  • Provide prompt, professional, and precise technical support to military, government, commercial, and light-show drone customers across all product lines.
  • Communicate with military end users using knowledge of military rank structure, unit roles, terminology, and acronyms.
  • Assist customers with build-kit component selection, assembly, wiring, firmware, and configuration.
  • Support Ready-to-Fly systems with initial setup, radio or controller binding, calibration, flight configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Diagnose hardware, software, and firmware issues and perform or guide customers through repair and maintenance procedures.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of component infrastructure, including motors, electronic speed controllers, flight controllers, video systems, radios, batteries, frames, and related hardware, and how these integrate into complete drone systems.
  • Maintain current knowledge of product offerings, new releases, revisions, firmware updates, and discontinued items.
  • Support commercial and light-show drone customers with fleet setup, system configuration, and operational troubleshooting.
  • Process, document, and track support cases, RMAs, and repairs, and notify customers of status changes or equipment or order issues.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to engineering with documentation of symptoms, testing performed, and findings.
  • Capture and relay customer feedback, failure trends, and field data to product and engineering teams for product improvement.
  • Contribute to knowledge-base articles, setup guides, troubleshooting documentation, and training materials.
  • Assist customers at the office with pickups, demonstrations, and hands-on support.
  • Assist the fulfillment team with inventory or technical-verification issues when filling orders.
  • Travel occasionally to visit customers, shows, demonstrations, and testing events.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Drone or unmanned aerial systems industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Soldering and small-electronics repair skills are preferred.
