Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree is required; Business Administration, Finance, or Economics is preferred, and an MBA is preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of successful sales or client service experience in the commercial, business, and/or private banking services industry is required.
  • Strong credit, underwriting, and loan structuring skills are required.
  • The role requires the ability to analyze financial statements.
  • The role requires in-depth knowledge of banking issues and at least one area of specialized expertise.
  • Strong interpersonal negotiation, verbal and written communication, and presentation skills are required.
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical skills are required.
  • The role requires the ability to use Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • S.A.F.E. Act registration through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System is required at the time of employment.
Responsibilities
  • Prospect for clients by sourcing and building an individual pipeline of clients and opportunities.
  • Earn referrals from clients, internal business partners, and Centers of Influence.
  • Partner with the Wealth Management Advisor, internal business partners, and Centers of Influence in the sales process to maximize new business opportunities.
  • Participate in the Life360 Process to identify cross-selling opportunities and deliver appropriate products and services based on client goals.
  • Identify referral opportunities across service lines, including Investment Management and Trust, Brokerage, Insurance, Wealth Planning, and Equity Risk Management, while collaborating with the Wealth Management Advisor.
  • Demonstrate sales, client contact, and relationship management skills by developing targeted business plans and achieving annual target sales goals.
  • Use the customer relationship management system to track prospects through closing.
  • Collaborate with the Wealth Management Advisor and other specialists to ensure the Private Banking client experience is delivered.
  • Deliver banking solutions based on the value ladder and the Fifth Third Private Bank story while following the Life360 Process.
  • Ensure service standards and metrics are met based on client banking needs and segmentation.
  • Collaborate with the Wealth Management Advisor to deliver advanced planning techniques.
  • Partner with internal and external service providers, including Centers of Influence such as attorneys and accountants, to optimize Life360 effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Take ownership of resolving clients' banking issues.
  • Provide clients with current industry trends and maintain thorough knowledge of banking products and solutions.
  • Challenge and collaborate with clients to articulate and achieve their goals.
  • Manage the overall balance sheet, including deposits and lending, to increase profitability and enhance client relationships.
  • Ensure prospect and client information is entered, updated, and managed in the customer relationship management system.
  • Use lending and credit expertise to deliver sophisticated credit solutions suited to client objectives, including stock option financing, unique assets, and customized loans.
  • Maintain the asset quality of the loan portfolio by managing loan renewals, monitoring financial statements, and maintaining current loan ratings.
  • Minimize loan losses through proactive action on criticized assets and early identification of declining credit quality.

Super-regional banks show CRE loan divergence as credit costs improve but nonperforming assets rise

Super-regional banks reported commercial loan growth and higher net interest income in Q2 2026, according to Trepp. Net interest income rose sequentially at all 11 banks, with Citizens and PNC each up 4%. Major acquisitions affected year-over-year comparisons. Fifth Third absorbed Comerica, Huntington added Veritex and Cadence, and PNC acquired FirstBank of Lakewood. Net charge-off ratios declined at eight banks, whilst credit loss allowances fell at 10 of 11 institutions. However, commercial real estate performance diverged. Citizens reduced its CRE charge-off rate to 0.36% from 0.64%, and PNC cut nonperforming CRE balances by 10%. Truist, U.S. Bancorp, and KeyCorp each recorded higher CRE nonperforming assets despite overall charge-off declines, suggesting uneven stress from legacy office and multifamily exposure.

CenterPoint Energy has announced a $700 million offering of 6.40% Fixed-to-Fixed Reset Rate Junior Subordinated Notes, Series E, due 2058. The company entered into an underwriting agreement on 30 July 2026 with a syndicate led by Mizuho Securities USA, PNC Capital Markets, Scotia Capital (USA), TD Securities (USA), and U.S. Bancorp Investments. The notes will pay interest semi-annually on 15 February and 15 August, beginning 15 February 2027. They will be listed on the New York Stock Exchange and NYSE Texas.
