Requirements
  • A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
  • Four or more years of experience in systems, actuarial, ETL, data, or configuration-focused roles, with a focus on calculations and actuarial concepts.
  • Familiarity with XML, SQL, VBA, Excel, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of actuarial business functions, statistical methods, actuarial systems, databases, and integration.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Actuarial exams are welcome, but the role does not align with active exam study programs.
Responsibilities
  • Configure rules, calculations, and system logic within Oracle Insurance Policy Administration (OIPA).
  • Build test tools, perform unit testing, and validate product calculations.
  • Analyze data and system behavior to identify improvements or defects.
  • Assist in projection and valuation processes and financial or actuarial reporting workflows.
  • Convert business and product requirements into system behavior using OIPA.
  • Configure and code functionality for new system features and product features based on product specifications.
  • Apply actuarial concepts to configuration and coding.
  • Analyze and load product rates and update parameters.
  • Support testing of configuration rules.
  • Maintain and update the rules palette.
  • Configure access and security rules.
  • Provide configuration support for monthly production implementation releases.
  • Partner with business and technology professionals to build dashboards and custom objects and support integration points.
  • Use large databases to create visualizations for analysis of actuarial concepts such as policyholder behavior.
  • Contribute ideas to improve performance, architecture, and operational processes.

  • Financial or insurance experience.
  • Experience with actuarial concepts and calculations, XML, SQL, SoapUI, Excel, and VBA.
