Requirements
  • 7+ years of relevant investment industry experience
  • CFA or CIM (or working towards either designation) is an asset
  • Strong industry and product knowledge – including mutual funds, ETFs, insurance products, SMAs and an understanding of the Canadian regulatory and legislative framework
  • Demonstrated presentation skills
  • Strong problem solving, quantitative, and data analytics skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills in forming trusting relationships Advisors and internal stakeholders

Responsibilities
  • Develop and operationalize product strategies that supports the health and growth of Sun Life’s wealth institutions including Prospr, Sun Life Financial Investment Services (Canada) Inc. and Sun Life Canada Securities Inc.
  • Contribute or lead the implementation of key product initiatives that enhances the platform, focusing on continuous improvement of the advisor or client experience.
  • Responsible for effective management and governance of the mutual fund and ETF product shelf, including product integrity, ongoing assessments, and delivery of enhancements to product shelf capabilities and offerings to promote broad and competitive platform for Sun Life advisors to meet evolving client needs.
  • Lead ongoing due diligence and governance of firms and products on the shelf, performed in accordance with the dealers’ regulatory obligations.
  • Be a lead contributor in support activities related to product approval committees.
  • Serve as a product subject matter expert in the field guiding Advisors to make informed decisions on product features, investment recommendations from the Fund Research team or the build out of portfolio models.
  • Build or support robust advisor education that increases their proficiency in using mutual funds and ETFs to construct investment portfolios or support know-your-product obligations.
  • Triage and resolve product inquiries, complex case resolutions, and escalations from Advisors, fund companies and various business partners.
