The Vice President of Insurance Services is responsible for overseeing the insurance operations for the company’s real estate and organization. This includes managing the company’s insurance captive, policies, claims, and developing strategies to optimize insurance coverage and risk management. The role involves working closely with various departments to assess and address insurance needs, managing relationships with insurance carriers, and leading a team of professionals.
Insurance Policy Management:
Develop and manage the organization’s insurance policies and procedures.
Review and analyze insurance coverages to ensure adequacy and compliance with industry regulations.
Risk Management:
Assess organizational risks and recommend appropriate insurance coverage to mitigate potential liabilities.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management programs and make necessary adjustments.
Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:
Ensure all insurance policies and practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
Stay updated on changes in insurance laws and regulations and adjust policies and procedures as necessary.
Prepare and maintain documentation related to insurance policies, claims, and regulatory compliance.
Claims Management:
Oversee the processing of insurance claims and work with insurance adjusters to ensure timely resolution.
Investigate and analyze insurance claims to determine validity and manage potential disputes.
Team Leadership:
Manage and mentor a team of professionals, providing guidance and support in their roles.
Conduct performance evaluations, provide training, and foster a collaborative team environment.
Coordinate with other departments to address insurance-related issues and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Financial Oversight:
Develop and manage the insurance budget, including premiums, deductibles, and other expenses.
Analyze insurance-related financial data and report on trends, costs, and savings opportunities.
Ensure accurate and timely payment of insurance premiums and other related expenses.
Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate insurance policies, coverage, and changes to stakeholders within the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., CPCU, ARM) are a plus.
Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in insurance management or a related field, with a strong understanding of insurance products, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
Proven experience in managing insurance policies, claims, and risk management programs.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead and motivate a team, manage multiple priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment.
