  • Inspire’s IPO can repay term-loan debt and fund growth after 2025 caution.
  • Dunkin’ generated $15.5 billion global system sales in 2025, anchoring cash flow.

What critics are saying

  • A June 8, 2026 California privacy ruling kept cookie-tracking claims alive against Inspire.

Dunkin' signs deal to open hundreds of Canadian locations after nearly a decade

Dunkin' has signed a master franchising agreement with Canadian restaurant operator Foodtastic to open hundreds of locations across Canada, marking its return to the market after departing in 2017. The first Canadian location is expected to open in late 2026. The deal comes as Dunkin' faces uncertainty internationally. India-based Jubilant FoodWorks announced it will not renew its franchise agreement when it expires at the end of 2026, potentially impacting the chain's presence in the region. Foodtastic and Dunkin' parent company Inspire Brands previously partnered to bring Jimmy John's to Canada in 2024, with seven locations by year-end 2025. In Canada, Dunkin' will compete against Tim Hortons, which operates nearly 3,600 locations and is owned by Restaurant Brands International.

Dugan joined parent company Inspire Brands in 2018 through its Sonic Drive-In acquisition and moved to Jimmy John's as CMO.
