Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) Sector is seeking an experienced leader to fill a Consulting Engineer Digital position in the Networked Information Solutions & Payload Ground Systems (NIS & PGS) organization based in Baltimore MD.
This person will have a technology leadership position that will span multiple roles:
System Architect – Requirements development and system design for complex digital ASICs and digital systems
Leader - Providing direction and oversight to internal and external interdisciplinary design teams developing systems and subsystem modules and components such as Single Board Computers, SoCs, ASICs, and FPGAs
Innovator – Architecting, designing, and modeling digital systems and control algorithms implemented in Embedded Processors, ASIC and FPGA technologies
This position is contingent upon the successful transfer of an active DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP) prior to start
Roles and Responsibilities:
Working with Internal and external multidisciplinary teams to define product architectures to meet customer requirements
Creating system & subsystem requirement specifications and directing design engineers during development process
Developing integration and test plans for systems & subsystems
Collaborating with design and implementation teams to ensure requirements are met on schedule and within budget
Monitor and participate in the development of industry standards
Driving improvement of internal engineering processes
Supporting managers in business capture activities as needed
Work closely with the directors and managers of engineering teams and programs
Provide technical oversight to engineering programs
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 16 years of experience, a master’s degree with 14 years of experience or a PhD with 11 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Must be a US Citizen
A current/active DoD secret clearance is required with the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP) prior to start
Demonstrated proficiency in mentoring and the ability to build highly engaged teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present knowledge to a wide variety of audiences of different backgrounds effectively.
Experience with designing and/or leading or managing digital design projects.
Experience in all aspects of the digital design process, from requirements analysis through verification testing.
Proven demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Knowledge of current digital technologies (digital hardware, FPGA, ASIC, SoC, and complex digital system design).
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or related technical fields.
Experience leading or managing digital hardware, ASIC, FPGA, SoC, and/or digital subsystem design projects.
Experience leading teams in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Salary Range: $213,400.00 - $320,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
