Responsibilities
  • Help manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
  • Travel throughout the district to fill pharmacist shifts scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator, oversee the pharmacy, and serve as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts without overlap.
  • Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and directing the pharmacy team to follow them, while using safety guardrails at every workstation.
  • Assume the Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist on duty.
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, coaching the pharmacy team to do the same, collaborating with the patient’s total healthcare team, and proactively resolving insurance or medication issues.
  • Offer and deliver immunizations and engage and support Pharmacy Technicians in learning to immunize.
  • Support effective pharmacy inventory management in all pharmacies worked by following and guiding the pharmacy team to follow inventory best practices, with special focus on protecting cold-chain products.
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs while contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic.
  • Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills through required training, continuing medical education, and other learning opportunities.
  • Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care, including testing and prescribing services such as COVID/flu testing and hormonal contraception where permissible.
  • Understand and comply with relevant federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS Health policies and procedures, including requirements for controlled-substance dispensing and recordkeeping, patient privacy and security, and workplace safety and inclusion.

CVS Health Q2 earnings beat expectations, partners with Eli Lilly on weight loss drugs
