Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the design and development of customer solutions is required.
  • Experience using SolidWorks 3D, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Experience with mechanical skid packages and/or hydronic design is required.
  • The role requires the ability to interpret applications and specifications, analyze quantitatively, solve problems, define technical requirements, and visualize and present complex data.
  • The role requires the ability to communicate with individuals by phone, email, and face-to-face.
  • Travel is required, estimated at 10% to 20%, with possible international travel to Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Asia.
  • A strong cultural fit with the United States team is required.
Responsibilities
  • Work within business systems while following proper setup and document control procedures to facilitate clean order entry.
  • Interact with customers to interpret applications and specifications and provide solutions by developing engineering standards for a given product.
  • Manage data in the Armstrong enterprise resource planning system, including bill of materials and routing updates, modifications, and item creation.
  • Issue drawing packages for pump packages to the assembly team and provide support during the build process.
  • Support inside and outside sales with pricing of pump packages and components.
  • Provide technical assistance, information, support, and guidance to customers and sales representatives.
  • Provide input for proposals, data packages, and products, and review sales orders for correct pricing and product selections when requested.
  • Visit original equipment manufacturer customer factories for scheduled meetings and training sessions.
  • Visit customer projects for support, troubleshooting, and implementation consultations.
  • Attend trade shows and off-site company meetings in support of United States sales.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in the heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning industry is preferred.
  • Previous experience in the heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning and plumbing pump industry is strongly preferred.
  • Other pumping industry experience is highly desirable.
