Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program.
  • Hold current Licensed Practical Nurse licensure in the State of Louisiana.
  • Hold current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • Successfully complete an arrhythmia course within the first six months of employment.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care addressing the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care.
  • Meet the communication needs of patients and their families.
  • Provide care that reflects initiative and responsibility consistent with professional expectations.
  • Maintain regulatory agency requirements and comply with nursing and hospital policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Communicate with physicians and team members about changes in patients’ clinical conditions, including diagnostic study results and symptomatology.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patients’ conditions or responses to treatment.
  • Perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.
Desired Qualifications
  • Hold Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification upon hire or obtain it within six months of employment.
  • Hold Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification upon hire or obtain it within six months of employment.
  • Hold Basic Arrhythmia certification upon hire or obtain it within six months of employment.
  • Have six months to one year of work experience.
