Requirements
  • AA or 2 year technical school and/or Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline
  • 10+ years of experience
  • 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for education.
  • Must have an Active TOP SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a TOP SECRET Clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs equipment and infrastructure of telecommunications networks including telephone poles, fiber optic cables, and other voice, data, and video signals transmission equipment.
  • Inspects, detects, and troubleshoots problems with telecommunications equipment and infrastructure.
  • Interacts and works with customers, engineers, and other technicians to ensure delivery of telecommunications services.
  • Assists telecommunication engineers in the design and analysis of telecommunication networks.
  • Creates plans and drawings detailing the layout of routers, circuits, cables, switches, or other telecommunications equipment.
  • Ensures network connectivity for end-users.
  • May evaluate existing networks and recommend design changes to improve performance.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.
