Field Engineer-Federal

About the role:

As a Field Engineer at Ditto, you will play a vital role in customer success by providing support and delivering customized technical solutions to our perspective and existing customers. You will work on a small team, partnered with end-users, that handles end-to-end solution implementation including problem statement, design, development, SIL test, HIL test, flight test, deployment, operational support, and troubleshooting.

As a Field Engineer-Federal, you will:

• Articulate Ditto’s cutting-edge technology to a wide-range of Federal customers and industry partners
• Provide pre and post-sales support & feedback to development teams
• Offer on-site support, testing, and training
• Contribute to technical marketing collateral, attend industry tradeshows and present product demos to current and potential customers
• Help Ditto’s Federal users solve complex issues with their mobile and edge solutions, e.g., resolving questions on complex technology, architecture, performance, scaling and everything in between
• Ensure customer satisfaction through effective follow-up support and dissemination of technical information
• Advocate for customers’ needs, working with the engineering and product teams to debug and reproduce problem reports from Ditto users and escalate problems to include other team members as needed

What you’ll need:

• Genuine desire to help Federal customers succeed with Ditto technology
• Ability to rapidly investigate and learn a wide variety of new technical skills
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are critical as you will be working with users from all over the world with very diverse backgrounds, as well as with a highly technical engineering team
• Experience with operating and testing IP radios, TCP/IP protocol, and networking
• Knowledge of networking, wireless communication systems, radio signal propagation, and digital communication technologies
• Professional experience with edge compute devices such as a mobile phones
• Professional experience using advanced software such as TAK or other planning and coordination tools
• Willingness to travel and work at customer sites
• Must be able to obtain a U.S. security clearance

Nice to haves:

• Prior military or operational experience
• Experience managing or developing software programs
• Knowledge of database technologies (e.g., RDBMS, NoSQL, Key-Value, distributed and replication)
• Some software development experience with any of these: Rust, Swift, Java, Kotlin, Typescript/Javascript, C/C++, Python
• Clearance might be required and will be sponsored (if you already have it that is a plus!).
