Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Archeology, Anthropology, Architectural History, or a related field
  • 2 to 8 years of relevant experience in cultural resource management
  • Must meet the Secretary of the Interior Professional Qualification Standards
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong understanding of NHPA Section 106 processes and NRHP eligibility criteria
  • Strong time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking
  • Experience performing and/or managing Phase I, II, and III investigations
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with Federal, state, and/or local consultation and coordination for infrastructure projects
  • Technical understanding of cultural and historic resources, water quality, marine and ocean resources, and/or visual resources
  • Experience with conducting NEPA reviews for federal actions
Responsibilities
  • Lead team members in understanding and implementing compliance with cultural resource-related statutes, regulations, and executive orders
  • Lead NHPA Section 106 consultations with stakeholders and conduct Tribal outreach
  • Evaluate properties for eligibility on the National Register of Historic Places
  • Support or work within multidisciplinary teams in conducting impact analyses and preparing NEPA documents
  • Foster positive working relationships within ERG and with clients
  • Lead research tasks, technical writing, and other cultural resource-related tasks
  • Assist with project aspects such as tracking budgets and schedules, facilitating meetings, and coordinating deliverables
  • Perform desktop-based research, report development, and occasional site visits
  • Develop and implement cultural resource management programs for federal agencies
  • Analyze archeological and architectural resources within defined areas
  • Perform historical research and records searches
