REGENT is building the seaglider; the first electric flying machine that will transport commercial passengers. With a vehicle that never flies higher than a few meters off the water, we unlock the ability to fly twice as far as an electric aircraft, and certification by maritime authorities which will let us fly first passengers by mid-decade.
We are backed by the world’s best investors: the same investors who are behind SpaceX, Anduril, and Boom Supersonic, in addition to strategic investors like Lockheed Martin, Japan Airlines, and Hawaiian Airlines. We have over $8B in orders from some of the industry’s largest operators and are hard at work getting our full-scale, human-carrying prototype on the water next year.
As a Propulsion Engineer - eDrive and Propulsor at REGENT, you will be obsessed with engineering first principals. Your primary objective will be to develop and execute test plans and procedures for our electric propulsion unit leading up to and including full vehicle integration. This role requires skills that can support various aspects of design, fabrication, and assembly across disciplines such as mechanical and electrical engineering.
Prior experience with high power and high voltage systems (DC) is required. We are looking for candidates who fully understand how to effectively and safely test test both high voltage electrical systems and high powered rotating machinery.
This role will require working cross-functionally along side engineers and techs from a variety of backgrounds spanning aerospace, maritime and automotive.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute test plans and procedures for our distributed electric propulsion unit leading up to and including full vehicle integration
- Analyze data collected during tests and generate reports confirming successful test results
- Perform cross functional excellence with aerodynamics, structures, vehicle integration, electrical, high voltage distribution, software engineering, and vehicle physics to enable successful propulsion unit integration
- Size, design, and specify the future of REGENT propulsion by leveraging in house engineering toolsets, collaborating and engaging with suppliers
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- MS in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering
- 5+ years of applicable engineering experience
- High voltage/high power eDrive testing experience
- Proficiency in test GUI, test instrumentation software, and hardware such as Labview and data acquisition systems

Desired Qualifications and Skills:
- Propeller design and analysis experience
- Proficient in CAN and serial communication protocols, with hands-on experience in system integration and data transmission
- eDrive design and prototyping experience
