  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Science, or STEM discipline from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of combined experience with manufacturing, production engineering and/or product engineering with Quality responsibility in a private, public, government or military environment.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for programs of major importance to the corporation’s initiatives in Glass Bubble Automotive, Nextel Aerospace and/or other business.
  • Support EMSD/AdMD’s global products by leading product and quality engineering efforts.
  • Partner with commercialization, quality and manufacturing teams to ensure new products are designed for quality.
  • Ensure compliance to ISO 9001 and automotive/aerospace requirements (including IATF-16949, AS9100, MAQMSR etc. as appropriate).
  • Support new product design reviews (including quality plan, raw material selection), d/p FMEA and control plans, SPC reviews, and change management programs.
  • Work with multifunctional team supports the commercialization and manufacture of new products by partnering with local and global design teams.
  • Drive Design for Quality efforts for new product commercialization and change management projects.
  • Provide expertise in Design Reviews and quality tools (VOC, LHOQ, FMEA, APQP, control plans, A3, change management, etc.).
  • Collaborate with laboratory and global manufacturing teams to ensure uniform and consistent metrology through Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), Round Robin correlation studies, and use of Internal Reference Materials (IRMs) as appropriate.
  • Lead and execute customer complaint investigations for the purpose of error proofing processes and driving to zero defect.
  • Identify product quality improvement opportunities and product process understanding (PPU) and is efficient in making project proposals, prioritizing, collaborating and executing priority programs.
  • Provide statistical insights through control chart analysis, manufacturing capability analysis, and experimental designs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Minimum of five (5) years of Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Quality Engineering, or Product Engineering in a division, plant, private, public, government or military environment within a high-tech industry (automotive, aerospace, defense, electronics, interconnect, data center, semiconductor, medical, etc.).
  • Two (2) years of Expertise in SAP and PLM documentation systems.
  • Black Belt or Green Belt experience.
  • Expertise in statistical insights, including design of experiments, analysis and software (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
  • Demonstrated expertise in leveraging global teams to implement complex continuous improvement projects across multiple divisions, business organizations and plants.
  • Two (2) years of Expertise in quality engineering tools (e.g., Design Reviews, House of Quality, Product Process Understanding (PPU), Statistics, APQP, FMEA, control plans, PPAP, etc.), root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone, Cause Maps, etc.), statistical process control (SPC or SQC) and statistics.
  • Experience with customer interactions in a high-tech industry (electronics, semiconductor, automotive, aerospace, defense, etc.).
  • Experience in new product commercialization (NPI), including stage gate reviews.
  • Fluency with APQP core tools, including design FMEA, process FMEA, Control plans and key/critical characteristics.
  • Fluency with change management process (CMP).
  • Experienced in the 3M Business Acquisition Process (BAP) and product risk analysis.
  • Expertise in complaint management and root cause analysis.
  • Experience with outsourced suppliers.
  • Certified to or audit experience in ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF-16949, or MAQMSR.
  • Certifications in quality engineering, quality auditing or quality management from American Society for Quality-ASQ certification(s): Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP).
