Requirements
  • Minimal requirements include a Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering or Science discipline.
  • Basic understanding of electronic circuits and components.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • Familiarity of Electronics Test equipment – Oscilloscopes, Multi-meters, Function generators.
  • You will be subject to a government security investigation, and you must be a U.S. citizen to apply.
  • Employment with the ARL will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
Responsibilities
  • Design custom circuit boards and power electronics to support system functions.
  • Develop software/firmware that is tightly interfaced to hardware in an embedded system.
  • Debug and test hardware, software, and firmware using unit integration and hardware-in-the-loop system tests.
  • Contribute to documents, designs, and specifications.
  • Proactively seek professional development opportunities.
  • Present to peers, management, sponsors, and stakeholders.
  • Support other members of the team.
  • Supervise the work of lower level staff and undergraduate students.
  • Perform tasks of a larger scope and lead specific tasks within the project scope.
  • Oversee the development of documents, designs, and specifications.
  • Manage tasks of small or moderate size.
  • Contribute to proposals, reports, and presentations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Specific domain knowledge in C/C++.
  • Experience in MATLAB, LabVIEW, VHDL and/or Verilog.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Skills specific to the Xilinx Vivado Development tools and Xilinx System on Module.
