Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship, Business Management, or a business-related field.
  • Two (2) years or 4,000 hours of related work experience in small business ownership/management positions which include increasing levels of responsibility.
  • OR Bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship, Business Management, or a business-related field.
  • Three (3) years or 6,000 hours of related work experience in small business ownership/management positions which include increasing levels of responsibility.
Responsibilities
  • Instructs students in the Small Business Entrepreneurship program which may include, but not be limited to the following curriculum areas: Operations Management, Small Business Marketing/Promotion, Small Business Development & Planning, and Internships.
  • Develops and plans appropriate instructional strategies, including alternative delivery strategies when appropriate including but not limited to hybrid, face-to-face and on-line course delivery.
  • Assists and advises students who have problems with assignments, tests, grades, course content, career concerns, and other academic matters.
  • Evaluates student performance and provides regular feedback in courses taught by the instructor.
  • Assists students in developing work experience assignments such as internships, work study assignments, team projects, etc.
  • Actively works with other personnel to develop strategies for student recruitment, retention, and success. This includes developing strategies aimed at the recruitment and retention of minority students.
  • Develops and maintains curriculum in a variety of non-traditional formats to meet student delivery needs in collaboration with department/ division staff; participates in instructional and curriculum articulation activities with other programs and other divisions of instruction.
  • Complies with college policies and directions regarding student testing, record keeping, advanced standing, providing grades on a timely basis, maintaining office hours for student assistance and academic advising, etc.
  • Maintains certification as an instructor with the Wisconsin Technical College System.
  • Complies with all aspects of Board policies, work rules, and the appropriate collective bargaining agreement.
  • Attends division and department meetings.
  • Participates in appropriate staff development activities such as diversity awareness, technology training, etc.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the college values of excellence, respect and integrity.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with online delivery and learning management systems beyond basic familiarity.
  • Experience in developing partnerships with business, industry, and community organizations.
  • Experience promoting recruitment and retention of minority students.
  • Knowledge of current educational methods and strategies, including online delivery, active learning models, learning management systems and other alternative flexible delivery methods.
